Sherwood Schwartz is considered one of the greats of television. The creator of the legendary series The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island passed away on July 12, 2011 at the age of 94, as a result of an intestinal infection.

Born November 14, 1916, Sherwood Charles Schwartz. He accidentally started working as a screenwriter when he settled in California to study for a master’s degree in biology. In need of money, he asked his brother, Al Schwartz , who worked as a radio scriptwriter, for advice, and he got him a job working alongside him writing humorous dialogue on The Bob Hope Show .

After going through several radio programs, he made his television debut with episodes of the series I Married Joan . In 1964 she created Gilligan’s Island , a series about a group of castaways that was quite an event in the United States, and is considered one of the most influential of all time.

He then created It’s About Time , although The Brady Bunch had a bigger impact , a legendary show about the father of three sons who marries the mother of three daughters.

Schwartz remained active for a long time. He created another series, Dusty’s Trail , and wrote TV movies like The Invisible Woman and Scamps . He died accompanied by his wife, Mildred Schwartz – whom he married in 1942 – and his four children.
