Personal trainer
Shawn Rhoden chooses the training routineDepending on what phase he is preparing for bodybuilding events. When he’s in the early stages of his preparation, he prefers lower rep ranges for workouts that involve heavy lifting. As he progresses, he likes to increase the rep ranges and focus on lifting light weights.
Rhoden also tailors his diet according to his needs. However, he doesn’t deviate much from his pre-contest diet plan. His pre-competition diet consists of 4 to 5 meals a day. At mealtimes, he primarily eats carrots, potatoes, rice, high-carb vegetables, lean ground beef, chicken, and steak.
His daily food intake also includes post-workout protein shakes. He usually ends his days with a concoction of peanut butter, cinnamon, oatmeal, and protein powder. During the build phase, he increases meal frequency and begins to eat more per meal. During this phase, Shawn typically starts his day with a big breakfast that includes 15 egg whites, 3 whole eggs, and a cup and a half of oatmeal.
