Behind the left ear: the Chinese character for the wolf, which is an animal I love [he also said in the past that he got it because both parts of the character look like his initials, SR] .

Right shoulder blade: a goblin. I was 14 (this is his first tattoo). When my father found out, he got really angry. At the time, tattoos were becoming fashionable so I got one.

Left forearm: my father’s and mother’s initials, and between that, the lucky number, VII, in Roman numerals. The sentence above is written in the Elvish language of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and translates to ‘I will never forget you all.’

Left middle finger: the initials of the three siblings. All three of us have the same tattoo, although the letter at the top varies.

Right wrist: our names in Arabic. René has the same tattoo. My wrist is more decorated and next to the name there is also a small 4 in Arabic. The rest is a Maori mix.

Upper inner arms (biceps): a quote from Cicero. On the right arm, “the spirit of the dead lies…” Before the word “death” there is an IX, which represents the day my father was born, and after “lies” there is a 27 for the the day my mother was born. On the left arm: “…in memory of the living.” Before the “the” there is a 3, which is the day my sister was born and at the end there is an XI for the day my brother was born.

Upper left outer arm: a mix of things with personal meaning. There is a Virgin, a Christ, a phrase in Italian (my family is my blood), a Star of David in memory of my grandmother Nena, who gave my mother a gold star that I often wear in necklace, and the word ‘freedom’ (in English).

Upper right outer arm: A potpourri of things that aren’t over yet. It’s a mixture of feelings, there are musical notes, the Giralda, with a red star next to it, the key to my heart, the hand of Fátima with the symbol of the eye, a crown, a cross, two old fashioned military caps with the number 15, which is my number with the national team…

Hands: the names of my parents. To my right is Rubio, my father’s nickname, and to my left is Paqui, my mother’s name.

Ribs: a line by Nelson Mandela from the movie Invictus: “Thank God for my invincible soul. I am the master… [right side] of my own destiny, captain of my soul 30-03-86″ [left side]. I’ve always admired him and read a lot about him.

Lombes: I have my sister’s name, Miriam, my number 4, my brother’s name Rene and the other side.

Lower abdomen: This is an answer to the “S” that Mundi, my best friend, received first. It’s an “M” with two wings and two feathers.

Right calf: a small world cup above, the date of 11-07-2010.
