The consequence, however, was that Coca-Cola lost $4 billion in market value after Ronaldo suggested people drink water instead.
In response to the situation, Coca-Cola said: “everyone is entitled to their drink preferences” and “everyone has different tastes and needs”.
It was reported that the company was just recovering from the heavy blow of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, UEFA said it will not sanction the striker for his gesture even if Coca-Cola is one of the sponsors of the Euro.
