  1. Scottie had great parents. With his father standing at 6″1″ and his mother being 6″ tall, all his brothers and sisters were tall but he was the tallest.
  2. His father survived a stroke that left the right side of his body paralyzed and caused difficulty walking and speaking.
  3. Pip was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1987 NBA draft. Eventually, Scottie finished the Chicago Bulls’ roster after being traded for Olden Polynice and a future draft pick.
  4. In 1990, he was first selected to compete in the NBA All-Star.
  5. At the 1992 Olympics, Pippen represented the United States and won a gold medal after The Dream Team, featuring Drazen Petrovic and Toni Kukoc, managed to surpass Croatia.
  6. After Scottie was traded to the Houston Rockets during the 1998-1999 lockout, he was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
  7. At Houston Rockets, Pippen had a salary of $11 million, four times his salary in Chicago ($2,775,000) before he was traded.
  8. Prior to the start of the 1999-2000 NBA season, Pippen was traded again, this time to Portland Trail Blazers.
