He wrote two movies starring Robert de Niro. Scott Marshall Smith has died after suffering a stroke, as announced by his family, at the age of 62.

Born August 24, 1958, in Monterey, California, Scott Marshall Smith graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and began his entertainment career working for Bob Giraldi, a renowned music video director.

After moving to Los Angeles, he started working at Panavisión in 1989, where he was dedicated to supplying cameras to filmmakers, and would end up as marketing director. He made his screenwriting debut in 2000 with Men of Honor , starring Robert De Niro . He later contributed to the script for another film whose cast was also led by the actor, 2001’s The Score .

Scott Marshall Smith  also wrote  Thomas Carter ‘s The Legendary Squad  (2014), a film about the La Salle High School football team in Concord, California, which won 151 straight games from 1992 to 2004. Jim Caviezel  played the central character . , Coach Bob Ladouceur.

In recent years,  Scott Marshall Smith has  served as  Chairman of Bourbon & Cigarettes Entertainment and served as a mentor to the National Film Development Corporation of India and the London Screenwriting Festival. He had not parked his job as a screenwriter, because at the time of his death he was working on a psychological thriller titled Wasatch . He is survived by his children, Dylan, Lauren and Carly.
