  1. She began boxing training at the age of 12 after deciding to join the local Hartlepool Headland Club with her friends to work on her fitness.
  2. In May 2017, Floyd Mayweather announced in a press conference that he had signed Savannah to her first professional contract with his Las Vegas-based promotion.
  3. She was nicknamed the “Silent Assassin” because of her shy and introverted nature and aggressive boxing style.
  4. Before she started boxing, she was quite fond of playing soccer. However, she only played it for fun and had no sporting ambitions.
  5. In 2006, at the age of 15, she made her international debut and within 2 years she became Junior ABA Champion.
  6. After the 2012 World Cup, she was diagnosed with a tendon rupture in her hand which caused her hand to have constant swelling throughout the tournament. She had to take injections to get through her seizures.
  7. Ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics, she received the Sky Academy Sports Scholarship, which awarded twelve exciting young British athletes to help them achieve their Olympic goals.
  8. When she won the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in China in 2012, she became the first female champion from Great Britain.
  9. She is the only boxer to have defeated American boxer Claressa Shields at the 2012 London Olympics.
  10. She has a tattoo on the left side of her torso to celebrate her success at the 2016 Rio Games.
