Sarah Wayne Callies
Like a tide that rises slowly, but without ceasing in its rise for a second, Sarah Wayne Callies has been establishing herself as a reference actress in the world of television series. “Prison Break” was her springboard to her fame, and now “The Walking Dead” has finished cementing her status. Her mole is in the movies, where she counts her appearances with her fingers.
Although she was born in Illinois (United States) on June 1, 1977, the real place where Sarah Wayne Callies grew up and grew up was Honolulu (Hawaii). She is the daughter of two university professors, since she was little she wanted to be involved in the world of acting, and for that reason, already in elementary school she performed several plays. That “bite” continued to grow and led him to study acting at Dartmouth College in Hanover (New Hampshire), later also obtaining a Master of Fine Arts. Curiously, she was in that student age when she met her current husband, Josh Winterhalt, with whom she also has a daughter.
Chains of cause and effect have been a constant in Sarah’s life. The decision to marry caused the couple to move to New York. She there she began to work in small roles, until the desired opportunity arrived. The Queens Supreme series , which dealt with the ins and outs of the Queens court, came knocking on her door and Sarah jumped at the chance. Although the series was a flop, the jobs were going to keep coming.
Numb3rs , Law and Order: Special Victims Unit or Dragnet were some of the series where she sporadically acted as a guest. She could even be seen in Tarzan (series) , the Warner series where she gave life to Detective Jane Porter. While it is true that her skills, until then, were wasted.
With Prison Break everything changed. A series of obligatory reference for any viewer of the small screen, it told us about the immensely far-fetched tricks that a man puts into motion to save his brother sentenced to death. The importance of Sarah’s character in this prison series is almost like a metaphor for her career, going from nothing to a progressive importance that made her as or more essential than the protagonist of the plot. And all because of her proven worth.
During the four seasons that Prison Break lasted , he combined his work in the series with appearances in some films such as the thriller The New Revelations (2006) or the terrifying Hellion. The fallen angel (2007). Nothing too remarkable.
The second big ‘boom’ in his path has the shape of a dead man, but he is more alive than ever. The zombie phenomenon of The Walking Dead has led to Sarah establishing herself as one of the great claims and hallmarks of the series, despite the fact that her character has been tied to the demands of a plot marked by what happens in the original comic. And she can be read up to there, to avoid falling into spoiler revelations.
As she did with Prison Break , during the filming of The Walking Dead she has appeared in three more films: as the deceased wife in the idyllic romance Lullaby for Pi (2010); in Black Gold (2011), a drama about the situation of a local community in Nigeria; and in El rostro del asesino (2011), a psychological thriller in which she accompanies Milla Jovovich .
His contribution in this new golden age of American television has been evident. The doors that he has open right now lead to roads of multiple projects, and surely none of them are small. The crux of the matter will be how he knows how to channel his decisions, I wonder if he will know how to choose the right option that will lead him to continue advancing and take advantage of a booming talent, who is also looking for professional expansion in the world of cinema.
