Sanwo-Olu Congratulates Akpabio

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the former Minister of Niger Delta and ex-Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, and other newly elected members of the 10th National Assembly, urging them to work in synergy with the executive arm of government to move the country forward.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke on Tuesday while receiving Akpabio and other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state at the Lagos House, Marina, said the newly elected lawmakers should see their victory as a call to service and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people.

He said the state government would continue to support the National Assembly to ensure that the dividends of democracy are delivered to the people.

“I want to congratulate all of you for your victory in the just-concluded National Assembly elections. This is a call to service and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people.

“I urge you to work in synergy with the executive arm of government to move our country forward. We are ready to support you in any way we can,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Akpabio, who led the delegation, thanked the governor for his support and promised that the newly elected lawmakers would not disappoint the people.

He said the APC members in the National Assembly would work with the executive arm of government to ensure that the party’s manifesto is implemented.

“We want to thank you for your support and for the good work you are doing in Lagos State. We promise that we will not disappoint the people. We will work with the executive arm of government to ensure that the party’s manifesto is implemented,” Akpabio said.

Other members of the delegation included a Senator representing Lagos West, Olamilekan Adeola, and House of Representatives members representing Lagos Island, Abiodun Abdulkadir, and Shola Akinlade.
