The bridge closure, which started on April 1 and is expected to last until May 2025, was meant to prevent potential disasters by addressing structural issues. However, it has led to severe gridlock across Lagos, with motorists facing hours of delays and alternative routes like the Five Cowrie Bridge and Lekki-Epe Expressway becoming heavily congested.
