According to media reports, NCB officials including Sameer Wankhede were attacked by some drug dealers during an anti-drug raid on Sunday, November 22, 2020, in Mumbai. In a statement, Sameer, zonal director of Mumbai NCB, said:
“Mumbai police, extraordinarily Goregaon police helped our group, a group of five people went there to lead a strike and they blamed an accumulated group of around 60 to 70 people so they could save the shopkeeper but we found out how to capture it and we recover a commercial quantity of LSD from him.”
He also said that “in this episode, some of our staff were injured and we later documented an argument against them at Goregaon Police Headquarters.”
According to the reports, the Police registered the case u/s 353, 504, and 323 against the street vendors. Sameer’s better half Kranti Redkar also shared a post and thanked everyone for their concern.
