Sam Adeyemi was born on February 3, 1967 to Chief SB Adeyemi in a village called Ndayako which is close to Mokwa Niger State Nigeria. Adeyemi is from Odo-Ere, Yagba, Kogi State Nigeria. Sam Adeyemi spent most of his early years in Ndayako where he did his primary  early education. He obtained his Higher National Diploma from the Kwara State University, where he studied Civil Engineering. Upon getting his first degree in Engineering he went further to pursue a degree in 2008 from the University of Exeter where he studied Leadership Studies and graduated with MSc degree in 2011. Thereafter, he went to Regent University, Virginia, USA to obtain a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership in 2017.

He began his ministry at Rhema Chapel alongside his younger brother, Victor Adeyemi. Pastor Sam was Director of Pastoral Care and Minister in Charge at Rhema Chapel before being transferred to a branch in Lagos.

Pastor Sam Adeyemi felt his ministry had stagnated after relocating to Lagos. So, in April 1994, he and his wife decided to embark on a prayer and fasting program. In July 1994, he received a clear instruction from God to advance to the next level of ministry, where he would be a teacher of biblical success principles. He would reach out to his target audience through radio, television, tapes, publications, and seminars. He would also establish a church to assist people in discovering and realizing their full potential. On the same day, Sam Adeyemi received the vision for Success Power International and Daystar Christian Center.

Sam Adeyemi began Daystar Christian Centre as the founder and Senior Pastor. Daystar Christian Centre is one of the fastest growing, life changing church based in Lagos State which was inaugurated on the 18th of November, 1995 at the 4th floor of the Eko Chinese hotel on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Daystar Christian Centre has grown over the years from starting in a rented space where they are required to pay thousands of naira per service, weekly. The Church moved to their own site which houses more than 20,000 congregation while running four service every Sunday.

In January 2002, Sam Adeyemi established the Daystar Leadership Academy as a non-profit Leadership and Management Development School. With a vision of developing exceptional leaders and managers who would transform the world. The Academy offers Basic Certificated Leadership Courses, Weekend Leadership Certificate Courses (Basic and Advanced), Executive Leadership Courses (Basic and Advanced), and Basic Leadership Course for Teenagers.
