Ambitious, strong in his passion for fashion and his creations, Salah Barka seems to be in love with his innovative creations and the world of fashion and shows only. Until now, the Tunisian designer has never mentioned anything related to his marital status or otherwise. Salah Barka prefers to show himself through his art, through his creative spirit and his attitude as an artist.
Career and career path
Beginning his professional career with modeling at the age of 15, Salah Barka subsequently opted for a brief training at Esmod.
Not having found what he was really looking for, Salah Barka interrupted his studies to become a costume designer in the cinema. With the vocation of achieving his goals and realizing his dreams, one by one, the Tunisian designer succeeded in creating his own line of clothing in 2004.
A self-taught artist and stylist, Salah Barka ‘s beginnings weren’t easy either. Indeed, he had to fight to be able to finance his creations and his project.
Choosing to specialize as a stylist and costume designer for cinema, theater and dance shows, Salah Barka launched his own clothing design workshop and spared no effort to distinguish himself from other stylists.
The Tunisian designer has indeed rubbed shoulders with great designers and was mainly interested in the technique of creation. In addition, cinema and theater have helped him a lot to get involved in his creations and to discover several sources of inspiration.
A lover of history, art and the traditional style of dress, Salah Barka was able to orient himself towards a unique style of creation and to embed the Tunisian, Berber, Phoenician and African civilization in his line.
Unable to innovate and work with black and white, Salah Barka is also inspired by nature and its different colors for the choice of fabric and materials.

Salah Barka often brings up the subjects of racism, prejudice and the gay community which suffers because of the rejection of people and society. Wanting to change this retrograde mentality, he also talks about his “conservative” family who accept him as he is and encourage him to come out of the shadows and live as he wishes.
