Sadly, Pastor and four others die as boat capsizes in Taraba

A Nigerian pastor, identified as Rev. Shedrack Bako, has died, alongside four others, in a boat mishap that occurred in Taraba State.

Bako, who was a pastor at Christian Reformed Church of Nigeria, was heading to his place of primary assignment.

The passengers, who boarded the boat from Mareniwo, in the Ardo-Kola local government area of the State, were travelling to a village in Karim-Lamido local government when the incident occurred.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, the boat was conveying 14 passengers when it capsized.

“We learnt that out of the fourteen passengers on board, nine were rescued and the whereabouts of the remaining five persons are unknown but we have dispatched our marines there,” he told Daily Post.
