In order to achieve what Ryan has, throughout his professional swimming career, it has taken serious consideration of his physical preparation. This doesn’t mean that an athlete only needs to lift heavy weights, rather it means that he has to cover all aspects of being in peak condition like eating healthy, working on recovery, muscle development etc
Lochte’s muscular body speaks enough about his preparation as an athlete. It is known that Ryan spends about 5 hours a day of intensive swimming, in which he is able to cover a distance of 16 km. However, the days when athletes would enter the pool, do their swim workouts, and achieve greatness, are over. Today competitive swimmers like Lochte go through extensive programs that help to keep them going in the long term.
