1. Initially, the lip-sync videos of popular songs played a big part in its popularity. However, it presented him with a problem in 2008 when many of his videos were removed for copyright infringement.
2. In 2009, his YouTube account was temporarily suspended for copyright infringement. He was asked to either remove his videos or change the audio of his videos.
3. In 2012 he founded Ryan Higa Production Company so he could expand his work into films and create more original videos for his YouTube account.
4. As an adult he competed in judo and over the years has managed to earn a black belt in this martial art form.
5. As an adult, he was a wrestling player. He even represented his high school.
