Russel Vitale born September 26, 1992 in New Jersey, known by his stage name and mononym  Russ, is a rapper, singer, songwriter and producer. Russ gradually learned to play several instruments, including the guitar, which was taught to him by his father. After a short period of registration at Kennesaw State, Russ  became part of the Diemon Crew, a rap group. In 2015 and 2016, her career really picked up with hits like “Losin Control”, “What They Want”, which peaked at numbers 83 and 63 respectively on the US  Billboard  Hot 100. Russ signed to Columbia Records in 2017, and released his debut album, There’s Really a Wolf.

Little known facts

Russ ‘ father didn’t have a steady job and he kept moving to find better job opportunities. The family eventually settled into a permanent home in Atlanta, Georgia after moving to places like Kentucky, North Carolina and New York. Russ was then 12 years old and he was strongly influenced by the culture of Georgia, inspired by country music. Although the rap music scene was thriving at the time, country music was what Russ’ parents listened to.

By the time he was 14, he had already started making his own beats. He attended a school in Atlanta and became locally famous through his music. He started looking for people to collaborate with music, but he was unsuccessful in the early stages. Eventually, just as he graduated, things started to fall into the right places and he came into contact with the right people, who kicked off his music career at an early amateur level.
