  1. In 10th grade, despite winning the race by a mile, his relay team was disqualified from the competition because Luke had started running long before his starting point.
  2. He missed his debut after being put on the report for high tackle in an Under-20 game, meaning he had to keep waiting for his chance.
  3. Despite winning the Man of the Match award on his debut, he was only able to play one match all season due to NRL salary cap restrictions.
  4. He suffered a career-threatening injury in 2011 when he broke and tore his ankle. During his recovery, he suffered from a staph infection and was therefore out of the game for 15 months.
  5. Late in the 2014 season, he was named Dally M Rookie of the Year for his outstanding performances, which included a field goal and six hits.
