Ross Barkley has long been seen as the next big attacking talent to come out of England. Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez has described him as a cross between Michael Ballack and Paul Gascoigne. England legend Frank Lampard has claimed Barkley reminds him of England’s young Wayne Rooney and England’s Manchester United top scorer. After bursting onto the scene with Everton , his progress was stalled by a couple of injuries and his contract dispute with Everton which eventually led to his transfer to Chelsea . At Chelsea he finally managed to gain a foothold under Sarri’s guidance.
