Known above all as one of Don Draper’s innumerable girlfriends, in “Mad Men”, Rosemarie DeWitt (Flushing, Queens, New York, United States, 1971) is more than just a pretty face. After a long career dedicated to theater, television and cinema, she has gradually made a name for herself.

He began acting at a very young age in plays at his institute, Whippany Parks in Hanover Township, New Jersey. Upon graduation she attended Hofstra University’s New College where he earned his degree in creative studies. During this stage he also went to the New York Actors Center to “gain experience and see how the rest of the actors did it.”

The first stop in his career was the theater, where he played numerous roles on New York’s alternative circuit known as Off-Broadway. His performances stand out in “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea” at the Second Stage Theatre, “Small Tragedy”, for which he won an Obey award, or “Family Week” for which he garnered good reviews, and where he was directed by Jonathan Demme, for whom he would later also work in the cinema.

After several years behind the scenes, he made his television appearance in Law and Order . Later she would come to small roles in other series such as Sex and the City , Love Monkey and Rescue Me: Rescue Team .

Rosemarie’s grace, style and charm landed her in one of her best-remembered roles, Midge Daniels, Don Draper’s bohemian lover in AMC’s Mad Men . With Ron Livingston, her husband since 2009 in real life, she starred in the series Standoff: The Negotiators (2006) where she plays Emily Lehman, an FBI negotiator. Three years later she would appear in the comedy United States Of Tara .

She debuted on the big screen in 2005 with  Ron Howard ‘s Cinderella Man: The Man Who Wouldn’t Let Her Down , curiously based on the life of the actress’s grandfather, former boxer Jimmy Braddock. She continued playing small roles in Off the Black , The Wedding Weekend or Purple Violets, until in 2008 one of her most successful works came to her. She especially embroidered her character as Rachel, Anne Hathaway ‘s sister in Jonathan Demme ‘s film Rachel’s Wedding .

During his career DeWitt has rubbed shoulders with big acting stars. In 2011 he starred in Margaret alongside Matt Damon , Mark Ruffalo and Anna Paquin. She starred with Emily Blunt and Mark Duplass in the Lynn Shelton film My Sister’s Friend . The role earned DeWitt the 2012 Gotham Award for Best Ensemble. He appeared in the Gus Van Sant drama Promised Land alongside Matt Damon and John Krasinski . She reteamed in 2013 with director Lynn Shelton on Touchy Feely , where she plays Abby, a massage therapist who develops an aversion to physical contact.

In 2014, she starred with Jennifer Garner and Adam Sandler in Men, Women and Children and shared the screen with Jeremy Renner in Kill the Messenger , playing a policewoman. She has also headlined the cast of the 2015 remake of the eighties horror classic Poltergeist , where she plays the mother of a family haunted by sinister spirits.
