Sanchez was born on April 2, 1973, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which makes her nationality Puerto Rican. Roselyn Sanchez is the youngest of her four siblings who are all brothers. Sanchez grew up in San Juan where she received her elementary education. Sanchez then went to the University of Puerto Rico to study marketing like her siblings. But due to her interest in acting and dance, she left college after three years. At the age of 18, she went to New York to learn acting, dancing and singing.
