Romesh Ranganathan is a popular comedian and actor known primarily for his deadpan comedy. He has several appearances on comedy shows and co-hosted ‘It’s Not Rocket Science’, a British TV show in 2016. He was nominated for Best New Actor at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2013.

Ranganathan was born on January 30, 1978 in Crawley, West Sussex, England. Born into a British Sri Lankan family, he spent his early childhood days in Crawley, West Sussex. He is of mixed ethnicity and belongs to British nationality. Ranganath is of Sri Lankan descent. His mother is called Shanthi Ranganathan but the detail of his father has yet to be revealed.

Romesh began his career as a mathematics teacher at Hazelwick School in Crawley. He has also worked as a teacher at The Beacon School, Banstead, Surrey. He started acting as a comedian when he was a teacher.

Ranganathan started presenting Newsjack on Radio 4 Extra in March 2014. In 2014, he appeared on a British TV show called The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice . Ranganathan featured his homemade vegan chocolate brownies on the show. He is vegan and was a vegetarian until 2013.
