Robin wright
She is best remembered for her roles in The Princess Bride and Forrest Gump , as well as her relationship with Sean Penn. But the career of this spectacular Texan blonde beauty has given much more of itself.
Born on April 8, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, Robin Virginia Wright was the daughter of Fred, a pharmaceutical company executive, and his wife, Gayle, a senior cosmetics company official. When she was in high school, she decided to start a modeling career, and later became an actress.
In addition to playing two episodes of the series The Yellow Rose , Robin Wright was hired to play a character on the daily series Santa Barbara , for which she filmed 391 episodes. Her character, Kelly Capwell Perkins, sister of a murdered boy whose boyfriend is accused of the crime, gave her great popularity, especially in the United States. On the set she met Dane Witherspoon – one of her co-stars – whom she married in 1986, but they soon divorced her.
Before leaving the series, Robin Wright made her film debut with Hollywood Vice Squad , and was Princess Buttercup, in Rob Reiner ‘s The Princess Bride , a brilliant homage to children’s stories, based on the novel by William Goldman . Buttercup dazzled Westley, his stable boy, who answers all her orders “As you wish”, words that actually mean “I love you” to him.
She found love again in real life when she was filming The Clan of the Irish , as she was conquered by Sean Penn . They both ended up getting married in 1996 and had two children, although her relationship has been as tumultuous as the famous scene in the film in which she pushes him and says “I don’t want anything to do with you. Do not get close to me! Do you think you can come to me when you’re in the balls and reach inside me and handle me? Well no! I know you from before. You’re a fucking liar.” That cinematic moment turned out to be prescient.
Both have appeared together in the films Hurlyburly and Caught Between Two Men , where they also argued on screen, and in Something Happens in Hollywood and Loved . In Crossing the Dark and The Oath , Penn directed his wife. “I love my woman. She makes me feel much calmer, because if I go to jail I won’t be able to be with her. When I was married to Madonna, going to jail was the easiest way to get rid of her,” Penn said.
In 2007, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn made their divorce public, but they were still together, and she appeared with Penn at public events such as the 2009 Oscars, when he won the best actor statuette. Shortly after they announced their final separation, but…
Robin Wright could have been an unparalleled star, although since she became a mother in 1991, she decided to devote more time to her children than to the movies. Even so, she starred in Toys , with Robin Williams , and soon after she played one of her most remembered roles, that of Jenny, the eternal love of the protagonist of Forrest Gump . She was the wife of Bruce Willis , in The Protected One, a woman in search of the man who had written some heartfelt words, in Message in a Bottle , a conservative adoptive mother in The Flower of Evil , an unfaithful wife in The Singing Detective , a pregnant woman who reunites with a love from the past in Nine Lives, and wife of a congressman in The Shadow of Power .
