  1. In his youth he played for the youth team in his hometown run by the Argentine Road Transport Union UTA.
  2. His last season at River Plate was a disaster as the club were relegated for the first time in their prestigious history.
  3. In August 2011, he joined Serie A club Udinese and signed a five-year deal with the new club. However, his first season at the club was very difficult as he suffered from severe homesickness.
  4. He joined Juventus from Udinese in July 2014 on a €1.5m one-year loan deal. The club had an option to turn their loan deal into a permanent one at the end of the season with an additional €14m.
  5. Before agreeing to a move to Juventus, he was also heavily courted by Inter Milan. However, he chose a club based in Turin because they were better able to win trophies.
  6. Arriving at Juventus, he was expected to serve as a replacement for Juventus’ impressive midfield, which included Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba. However, his great form earned him 52 appearances, which was the most appearances by a player this season. He was linked to Marchisio and Leonardo Bonucci.
  7. In August 2016, Watford paid Juventus €13m to acquire Pereyra. He signed a 5-year contract with his new club.
