Actor Robert Sacchi, known for his strong resemblance to Humphrey Bogart, passed away on June 23, 2021, at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles. He was 89 years old.

Born in Rome on March 27, 1932, Robert Sacchi ‘s family moved to the Bronx, the New York neighborhood, when he was still a child. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School, where he was already known for his striking resemblance to Humphrey Bogart . Before embarking on an acting career, he attended Iona College in New Rochelle, where he majored in business and finance.

He made his film debut in his home country, Italy, with the delirious Inspector Bogart’s Brigade , where he played a policeman investigating a murder in a brothel. The film also featured Anita Ekberg . He then launched a career as a Casablanca impersonator , appearing in commercials, plays, television shows and music videos, including Phil Collins ‘ “Cybill . “

On screen,  Robert Sacchi appeared in Pánico en la calle 110 y Shhh , and starred in A loco y con la cara del otro , where he gave life to a guy obsessed with Humphrey Bogart , who after undergoing surgery to look like him , hires a secretary, changes his name to Sam Spade, and opens an investigative agency. He also  played Humphrey Bogart . in the series Fantasy Island, an engineer in The Jungle 2 (Red Alert) and a DJ in Buscando a Eva . 

Robert Sacchi is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peruvian artist Angela De Hererera, and their two children, Trish Bertisch and John Sacchi (the producer, married to Suzanne Fritz of Warner Bros.); six children from a previous marriage: Robert Sacchi Jr., Barbara Cohen, Felicia Carroll, Maria Tolstonog, Lisa Osborne, and Anthony Sacchi; and his brother Mario Sacchi. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aden Bertisch, Evan Bertisch and Owen Sacchi.
