  1. When he was just a month old, his father Steve, during a live show, Irwin was seen carrying him on his arm while feeding chicken carcasses to a 12-foot-long saltwater crocodile. Robert was very close to the crocodile, which drew widespread criticism of his father’s actions.
  2. The incident led to the Queensland government changing laws governing the handling of crocodiles. The government banned the entry of untrained adults and children into crocodile enclosures.
