1. He started playing football at VfB Fortuna Biesdorf.
2. As a child, Robert was a fan of SV Werder Bremen.
3. Robert was a ball boy in the 1997 German Cup Final, held at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
4. After VfB Fortuna Biesdorf, Robert switched to the youth team of FC Union Berlin and after 2001 moved to Chelsea.
