Robert Michael Schneider is an American actor, comedian, director and screenwriter. He is a stand-up comedian and a veteran of the NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live. He then acted on feature films with leading roles in the Deuce Bigalow comedy films. Also, movies include Male Gigolo, The Hot Girl, The Benchwarmers, and Grown Ups. Schneider is the father of songwriter Elle King.

The comedian was born on October 31, 1963 in San Francisco, California, Schneider grew up in the nearby suburb of Pacifica. Schneider appeared in the 1999 feature film Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, the story of an aquarium cleaner who incurs huge debt and is forced to become a “man whore”. This was followed by The Beast, about a man who was granted beast powers by a mad scientist; The hot girl, in which the spirit of a petty thief named Clive is mystically transformed into the body of a handsome but mischievous high school cheerleader. Critics or moviegoers did not receive the latter film well, and as a result, Schneider received the 2005 Worst Actor Razzie Award for his role in the film.
In 2006, Schneider co-starred with fellow SNL alum David Spade as well as Jon Heder in the baseball-themed family comedy The Benchwarmers. His film roles include Schneider’s appearance in the 1999 film Muppets from Space starring Jim Henson’s Muppets and his performance as a San Francisco tramp in the 2004 remake of Around the World in 80 Days. He appeared in the film as a con man imprisoned for carrying out real estate scams.
