He co-hosted America This Morning and World News Now on ABC with numerous co-hosts, including Tanya Rivero, Paula Faris, Peggy Bunker, Vinita Nair and frequent stand-in Sunny Hostin. He initially joined ABC on July 12, 2010 and left on March 15, 2013.
He is a resident of southern New Jersey and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining ABC, he was an anchor for WWL-TV in New Orleans and also worked for the Times-Picayune newspaper. Rob Nelson found success as a fill-in for John Muller as co-anchor of ‘World News Now’. The immense popularity of him among the fans led to him becoming Muller’s regular understudy. Nelson joined WABG-TV as co-anchor of its weekend morning newscasts, replacing Phil Lipot in January 2014.
