- He has worked with his wife to start local entertainment agency, Cleveland Entertainer .
- He was interested in magic tricks from a young age and by the age of 7 he was putting on shows for his family and friends.
- While attending college, he played baseball for the NCAA team. CSU Vikings . He was their pitcher and had the ability to throw a decent 90 mph fastball.
- He accidentally discovered his skill at card throwing. One of his friends had angered him by throwing a sock at Rick, and he responded by throwing a card with such amazing speed and precision that it cut his friend’s arms.
- In 2002, he earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records by throwing a playing card a distance of 216 feet 4 inches.
- In 2010, he auditioned for the fifth season of the TV show, America’s Got Talent . For his audition, he cut celery into 3 pieces by throwing cards from a distance. He was selected for the next round of the show. Rick failed to get out of the Vegas round as he failed to pop the third of three balloons despite taking several shots.
- In March 2015, he broke the world record in the highest throwing card category. He had managed to throw a card 70 feet 3 inches high.
- Rick established Magic Gives Back , which is a non-profit organization that aims to raise funds for the school system in the United States. He organizes magic shows with other artists in partnership with school districts, with proceeds from the event going to the school.
