Forbes Top 10 Richest Women In Nigeria (2024)

Nigeria, despite being one of the poverty capitals of the world, is home to 9100 high-net-worth individuals and 7 billionaires. Amongst these elites, are women who control multi-million dollar conglomerates in Nigeria and Abroad. In celebration of these powerful African Amazons, we have compiled the 10 richest women in Nigeria [2024] and their estimated net worth  according to Forbes.

It is important to note that despite the existence of these high-net-worth women, there is still a wealth disparity between Nigerian men and women.  According to the Gap report https://www.weforum.org/publications/global-gender-gap-report-2023/ in 2023, Nigeria ranks 130th on the wealth disparity index. According to the report, gender gaps in wealth accumulation can be attributed to the underlying gender gap in the labor force.

Although the margin between the male and female labor force in Nigeria is not wide and has also gotten better with increased labor participation of women over the years, the payment for labor of women is relatively low compared to that of males across all occupations. Due to the underrepresentation of women in high-ranking positions, their investments and savings, which drive wealth, are often lower than those of men.
