Reactions as ‘Hushpuppi ally’ Abba Kyari blocks Peoples Gazette on Instagram

Nigerian have been reacting to the news that Nigeria’s deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari has blocked Peoples Gazette on his Instagram page. Which Nigerians see as an effort to deny the media house access to critical public information.

Recall that Peoples Gazette has been on top of the situation since Ramon ‘Hushpuppi’ Abbas, the infamous Nigerian fraudster recently pleaded guilty in the United States narrated how he bribed Nigeria’s celebrated police chief Abba Kyari.

As a top police commander of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr Kyari regularly publishes activities of his team on his Instagram handle, where he has about 75,000 followers. However, this action to block the media house to Nigerians could potentially prevent a large section of the Nigerian population from having access to information in violation of the Nigerian Constitution.

It is evident that Abba Kyari does not have a visible presence on Twitter, and this decision to block the media house mirrored the controversial decision of former U.S. President Donald Trump to block those critical of him on Twitter.

It will be very hard for Abba Kyari to deny the charges in the FBI’s indictment. I searched the numbers listed in the affidavit on TrueCaller. They’re matched to Kyari. Note that the confirmed numbers exchanged texts with Hushpupi’s numbers. How do we explain that?
