RD Call
He appeared in numerous movies, many of them alongside Sean Penn. Actor RD Call passed away on February 27, 2020 from complications during surgery for back problems. He was 70 years old. “He might seem like a tough guy on the outside, but he was a good guy,” a spokesman for his family said.
Born on February 16, 1950 in Utah, at the age of 25 he moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the Lee Strasberg school. His first important job was as a supporting role on the series Barnaby Jones, in episodes directed by Leo Penn , father of Sean Penn . He became a good friend of the family.
As a consequence, RD Call appeared in five feature films alongside Sean Penn , Men Face to Face , Colors (Colours of War) , The Clan of the Irish , The Weight of Water , and I Am Sam , and in the film directed by him Towards wild routes . He also took part in titles like Babel or Waterworld . Although he had problems with alcohol, at the time of his death he had been sober for 26 years.
