Rajat Mukherjee (born 1960 – died 19 July 2020) was an Indian film director and writer from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He directed the popular Hindi movies like Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Love in Nepal and Road. He passed away on July 19, 2020 due to long illness in Jaipur.
Due to the coronavirus lockdown, he came to his hometown and lived with his relatives. He suffered from chronic kidney and heart problems in his last days and was admitted suddenly on July 19, 2020 (Sunday).
Bollywood celebrities mourned his passing. The year 2020 turned out to be the worst year for the Indian film industry as it lost its top stars Wajid Khan, Irrfan Khan, Saroj Khan Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput.
All the respected celebrities missed out on the best skills they brought to the industry. Film fraternity members Anubhav Sinha, Urmila Matondkar, Vivek Oberoi and Hansal Mehta paid tribute on his death.
