Rafael Nadal , the greatest tennis champion of all time, is the most successful player in history. A young, formidable and powerful player with 13 Grand Slam titles at only 27 years old, Rafa is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic stars of world tennis.

Born on June 3, 1986 in the town of Manacor, Mallorca, into a family of great sportsmen, Nadal started playing tennis at just three years old. Encouraged by his uncle Toni Nadal, who became  his personal trainer , at the age of 12 he won Spanish and European titles in his age category. After four years, he is ranked in the top 50 best players.

In 2002, Rafa entered the world ATP circuit and he obtained a place of junior semi-finalist at the Wimbledon tournament.

Rafael Nadal ‘s Fortune

Already in 2008, Rafael Nadal is one of the highest paid sportsmen in Spain, with income in 2008 of $11,483,773 . His personal fortune was then estimated at $40,000,000 according to Forbes magazine  . In 2020, the latter estimates his fortune at 160 million euros. He is the owner of the “most beautiful yacht in the world”, the 80 Sunreef Power Great White, worth 5 million euros.

Its income comes mainly from sponsorship contracts. He signed one at the age of eighteen with Nike, after his first victory at Roland-Garros, against the sum of $1,800,000 a year. In early 2009, his contract with Nike was re-evaluated at $2,000,000 for 5 years.

The Spaniard has also had a contract with Babolat since the age of 15 (record contract for a young sportsman, made after the victory of the “Petits As” tournament in Tarbes, which reveals the great tennis players), of 1,000 $000 per year. Since the end of 2006, Nadal has received  royalties  (dividends) on his image rights (TV, newspapers, internet, posters, video games, etc.) for an amount of around $500,000 per year.

Fortune by Rafael Nadal also receives various advertising revenues (Spanish television, Kia Motors, Cola Cao, the Parisian haute couture brand Lanvin…), for the approximate amount of $700,000 per year.
