The Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and the fountains in Trafalgar Square were all pink-lit to commemorate her birth, and there were cannon salutes at Hyde Park and the Tower of London.

In honor of her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, grandmother Diana, Princess of Wales, and grandfather Charles, she was given the name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on May 4. Her parents have referred to her as “Lottie” and “Mignonette” in a loving manner.

Princess Charlotte began attending the Willcocks Nursery School, in January 2018, which is close to where her family resides in Kensington Palace. In September 2019, she enrolled at Thomas’s School in Battersea with her brother Prince George, where she went by the name Charlotte Cambridge.

In September 2022, Charlotte and her siblings started attending Lambrook, a private prep school in Berkshire.

Princess Charlotte made her first public appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour on June 11, 2016. She traveled with her parents and older brother George on their official trips to Poland and Germany in July 2017 and on their September 2016 royal tour of Canada.

Charlotte and George both went to St. Mary Magdalene for the first time in December 2019 for the Sandringham Christmas Day Service. She went to a service of thanksgiving for the life of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on March 29, 2022, along with her parents and older brother.

Although she is young, Princess Charlotte is third in line for the British monarchy after her father and older brother. Due to the implementation of the Perth Agreement, which replaced male-preference primogeniture with absolute primogeniture, she did not move down the line of succession when her younger brother, Prince Louis of Wales, was born on 23 April 2018; this makes her the first British princess to rank above a brother in the line of succession.
