President Buhari Meets New EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa

Abdulrasheed Bawa was confirmed as the new chairman of EFCC by the Senate on Wednesday
While speaking before the Senate on Wednesday, the new EFCC boss said that Nigeria must recover all stolen assets for the betterment of its citizen.
He further stated that EFCC will work with other agency around the Globe to see that Nigeria recovers some of its stolen asset that has been moved abroad
He however promised during his screening that the constitution will guide his action as the chairman of EFCC, He moreover noted that his training at the FBI and the National Crime Agency of The United States and the United Kingdom will help him make the anti-corruption agency more efficient than it used to be.
When asked what he will do differently from his predecessors, he stated that there will more transparency and accountability, he also promised to reposition the commission by ensuring that it strengthen its standard operating procedure and improve on them.

meanwhile, A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Prof. Itse Sagay has explained why the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), will not allow the new EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, to succeed.
The professor said the reason is that the minister is somehow related to Abdulrasheed Bawa, the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and would meddle with his duties and responsibility.
The professor alleged that Malami has been derailing the anti-corruption war of the Federal Government since he took over the position.
He also added that Malami had become too powerful and must not be allowed to directly control the activities of the EFCC and ICPC.
