The New York Daily News staff wrote in their review, “The Power is firing on all cylinders as it returns for its second season. Throw a few terrific women into Ghost’s life — his wife, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), and he recently resurfaced flame Angela (Lela Loren) — and you’ve got drama that’s hard not to keep watching. ‘
Reviewer Brian Lowry of Variety says in his review, “The three preview episodes of the series, created by The Good Wife alum Courtney A. Kemp, move pretty quickly, but they’re still only moderately compelling.

And while 50 Cent’s involvement provides promotional weight (he has a cameo in a later episode), these marquee names’ behind-the-scenes appeal is generally limited. Above all, it’s an undemanding escape with all the trappings of pay TV, much like what Cinemax offers in episodic form. While this could be a formula for keeping Ghost visible for a while, creatively it does leave Power with a dash of juice.
