1. LYTA

Talented music star, Lyta, whose real name is Opeyemi Babatunde Rahim, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter, he hailed from Kwara State but grew up in Ajeguinle Lagos State.

Lyta started his music career as a member of “Ile Kewu”, a music group at his local mosque. His record deal with YBNL Nation was made public on 3 February 2018. Lyta’s breakthrough single with YBNL Nation, titled “Time”, features vocals by Olamide and was released on 14 February 2018.

He signed with Doro Musik Gang and released the Killer Tunes-produced track “Monalisa” on 12 July 2019, A few weeks after the release of “Monalisa”, Davido reached out to Lyta about recording an official remix with him. Following their agreement, Davido and Lyta flew to Dakar for the remix and video shoot. The remix of “Monalisa” was released on 30 August 2019.

Lyta released the Afrobeat track “Worry” on 6 December 2019; it was produced by Killer Tunes

Lyta is currently signed under Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley. He also released his first single under the label titled “Hold me Down(Omo Gidi)”.

2. LAGBAJA

I know most people do not know that the music star, Lagbaja is from Kwara State, Lagbaja whose real name is Bisade Ologunde, he is a Nigerian Afrobeat musician, singer-songwriter and percussionist. Widely known as Lágbájá for his signature use of a mask that covers his identity. He believes in social reform through music.

The music star, Ologunde adopted the name Lágbájá (meaning ‘anonymous’ or ‘faceless one’ in Yoruba) as he embarked on his career in the early 90s

He formed his first small band in 1991 in Lagos after he had taught himself to play the saxophone. Lagbaja’s album We Before Me (IndigeDisc/PDSE), released in 2000, demanded honesty from politicians and urged brotherhood and unity.

He shared lyrics of his songs with a backup singer, Ego Ihenacho, and equally plays tenor saxophone. With a firm, brawny tone akin to that of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders, he emblazoned the melodies of the songs, sometimes with Ego scat-singing along.

Lagbaja, born Bisade Ologunde in Lagos, He was born in 1960 in Lagos state. He is from Odogun ’s Compound, Ijagbo Community in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State

He won Channel O Music Video Awards for Best Male Video (“Never Far Away”) in 2006

3. CDQ

The popular music artist CDQ, whose real name is Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, is a Nigerian indigenous hip-hop rapper and songwriter, he was born on May 6 1985

CDQ is a native of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria but was born in Orile, a suburb of Lagos where he did his secondary and tertiary education

The singer paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin during the first day of his arrival to discuss his intentions and plans for the secondary school students within the state.

His 2-days trip was filled with activities as he and his team were well received by the school as the Principal of the school organised a special assembly gathering to receive one of their own. The musician gave writing materials and wall clocks to the students.

CDQ started music professionally in 2008 when he used to be a backup singer for Da Grin before he started rapping in the English language with M. I. In 2013, he signed a recording contract with Masterkraft ‘ s General Records after winning a rap battle at the weekly Industry Nite in December 2012. In 2014, he released his breakthrough single titled “Indomie ” which featured vocals from Olamide while the remix of the song featured Davido. The Masterkraft -produced song brought CDQ ‘ s career to the limelight and further earned him two nomination spots at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and a nomination in the Best Street -Hop Artist category at The Headies 2015

CDQ enlisted the service of Wizkid with whom he released ” Nowo E Soke ” as a lead single off the album. The music video for the song was directed by Unlimited L. A and went on to win the Best Afro Hip Hop Video category at the 2016 edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards .

On 16 August 2016, he unveiled the cover art for the album before it was released through General Records on 22 August to positive critical reviews. On 11 November 2016, he launched his own record label N.S. N.S, a short- form for No Struggle No Success Entertainment

4. PASUMA

Wasiu Alabi Pasuma popularly known by his stage name Pasuma is one of the Nigerian richest and talented Nigerian Fuji Musician of all times. The top Fuji act is also widely known as “Oganla”. Wasiu Pasuma is a Nigerian film actor and Fuji musician. The fuji star is of the most celebrated Fuji musicians in Nigeria who has been in the entertainment scene for many years

The Fuji star was born on November 8, 1967, at Mushin in Lagos State and was brought up in Kwara State, Western Nigeria, Pasuma is vividly a native of Oro which is one of the largest cities in Kwara state.

Pasuma music career started as a teen, Pasuma loved listening to King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1) album ‘Talazo’ and he claims that the album inspired his decision to become a Fuji musician.Pasuma’s album “Recognition” was released in 1993.

He has since then released over 30 albums, going on to become one of the most successful Fuji musicians in Nigeria.

Pasuma beat the likes of Olamide, Phyno, Flavor to emerge the winner of Best Indigenous Artist of the year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards On Sept 6, 2015.

He was nominated for the Best featured Non-Islamic Artiste in Islamic album in 2016 alongside Saheed Osupa, Sule Alao Malaika, Shefiu Alao, Taye Currency, Muri Thunder.

He is also a philanthropist who has helped several upcoming artistes

Laolu (Olaolu) Isaac Senbanjo, also known as “Laolu NYC”, is a Nigerian visual artist, musician, singer/songwriter, and former human rights, attorney. He was born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara State by a Yoruba parent, he was born on Oct 19 1982

Laolu bagged his B.sc in Law at the University of Ilorin then worked as a human rights lawyer for five years, spending his final three years working at the National Human Rights Commission as a senior legal officer focusing on women and children’s rights.

In 2010 Senbanjo quit his job as a lawyer and started the Laolu Senbanjo Art Gallery in Abuja, Nigeria. He moved to Brooklyn, NY in August 2013 to pursue his art career

Senbanjo has coined his style of art, Afromysterics, meaning mystery of the African thought pattern. It incorporates African themes and African traditions. He uses charcoal and distinct patterns to create complex, story-rich art designs that draw heavily on his Yoruba heritage and feature ancient Nigerian symbols and patterns

He is a world music artist who draws influences from Fela Kuti, Sade (singer), Bob Marley, and King Sunny Adé. His musical style is deeply rooted in the traditions of Afrobeat and High Life, mixed with Afro-Soul and Reggae. Senbanjo blends singing in his native Yoruba language and often translates Yoruba folks songs, proverbs and his oriki into English
