Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, has stated that the deployment of police officers to individuals will undergo a thorough review and regulation process.
Meanwhile, his statement came in response to a viral video showing an unidentified VIP being accompanied by at least seven armed Mobile Policemen on foot. Adejobi, addressing the issue on Twitter, expressed his disgust at the act and pledged to identify and hold accountable the officers involved.
He furthermore emphasized the establishment of a committee to examine the withdrawal of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and tactical personnel from such services, redirecting them to the Quick Intervention Squad as previously announced.
Additionally, Adejobi assured the public that the deployment of police officers to individuals would be reconsidered and standardized. Once the committee presents its report, the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) will promptly implement the policy, prioritizing the allocation of more personnel to general policing rather than guarding individual citizens. He concluded by promising a better policing system for Nigeria in the near future.

This is condemned. We will fish out these men. It's even disgusting. We have set up a committee to look into the process of withdrawing our PMF/tactical men from such services and use them for the announced Quick Intervention Squad. https://t.co/CG0klDtx85
