BIOGRAPHY OF PILOU ASBÆK

Pilou Asbæk is a Danish actor born March 2, 1982 in Copenhagen, Denmark as Johan Philip “Pilou” Asbæk. He is best known for his role as spin trouble doctor Kasper Juul in the Danish television political drama Borgen, and as Euron Greyjoy in the television series Game of Thrones

He went to Herlufsholm School where he was active in drama productions. He graduated from the National Theater School of Denmark in the summer of 2008. He is the son of gallery owners Maria Patricia (née Tonn) and Jacob A. He has two older brothers, Thomas Asbæk, an art consultant at Asbæk Art Consulting , and Martin Asbæk , gallerist at the Martin Asbæk Gallery.

In 2009, Asbæk played soldier David Grüner in a second season episode of another Danish TV series, The Killing. He had his breakthrough in 2010 as inmate Rune in Lindholm & Noer’s prison drama for which he won Best Actor at the Danish Critic Association Award, Bodil, and Danish Film Academy Awards, Robert.
