Peter Stormare is a subscriber to supporting roles. Recognized worldwide for the number of movies in which he has been seen, he moves like a fish in water in dramas and comedies representing eccentric characters.

Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm (August 27, 1953) was born in Närke, Sweden, although he holds dual Swedish and American citizenship. He is the son of Teodolinda Laparelli and Renato Storm. His career as an artist began at the Royal National Theater in Sweden. Precisely there he spent eleven years training and decided to change his name to coincide with that of another student. During this time he met Ingmar Bergman and made the leap to the big screen with Fanny and Alexander (1982), although his role is short-lived.

In 1990 he became the artistic director of the Tokyo Globe Theater and began to succeed with performances of Shakespeare plays. After his first years in Swedish productions, Peter moved to New York in 1993. Just three years later he released one of his most famous films: Fargo . The Coen brothers’ acclaimed black comedy made him known around the world thanks to his bloodthirsty character. From then on he would combine large and small productions. We saw him in The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2 , sequel to the hit Steven Spielberg film ; he was in space with Bruce Willis in Armageddon ; in 1998 he would return to be under the command of the Coens with The Big Lebowski, although this time his role would be less important and about to enter the 21st century, he took part in one of the great films of the eccentric Lars von Trier , Dance in the dark .

Steven Spielberg decides to count on him again for a strange doctor role in Minority Report (2002), his futuristic vision of humanity. Stormare’s ability to imitate accents from other countries gave her the opportunity to represent Italians, Russians or other Europeans. Three of his productions treasure him: the Canadian film Hitler: the reign of evil allowed us to see one of the best representations of him. Peter plays the homosexual SA commander Ernst Röhm; Next up was Bad Boys II , a saturation of shooting, chasing and exploding by Michael Bay , in which he plays the Russian mobster; in 2005 with Prison Break, the hit prison series, once again puts himself in the shoes of a mobster, the murderer John Abruzzi. This is probably his best known role.

He has also tried his hand at fantastic cinema with three Terry Gilliam productions: The Brothers Grimm’s Secret , The Imaginary of Doctor Parnassus and The Zero Theorem . On the other hand, Peter Stormare did not forget his roots and also acted in low-budget Nordic films. In 2007 he released Switch , a movie very similar to the mythical Karate Kid , but with snowboarding in the middle; and in Varg he was the protagonist of a drama in the frozen Swedish lands.

But Stormare has not only lived from the movies, her roles on television are many: from chapters on CSI to Adventure Time , Entourage , Weeds , The Blacklist and Arrow .

His last important forays in front of the camera have been with Mel Gibson in Holidays in Hell (2012); in the adaptation Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters ; and with Nicolas Cage in the bloody Tokarev .

Peter has been married since 2008 to Toshimi Stormare, with whom he has a daughter, Kaiya Bella Luna. He is also a confessed music lover and has had a group since 2002, Blonde From Fargo.
