His characteristic bushy eyebrows make him not go unnoticed. It is one of the reasons why it is a secondary that leaves its mark on the viewer. When he was young he wanted to fulfill several dreams despite being aware of their difficulty. Upon achieving him, he inevitably feels like an achiever.

Peter Gallagher was born on August 19, 1955 in New York, after a difficult birth as he himself narrates. The doctor “informed my mother that she had the umbilical cord twisted around her neck and told her that they had done everything they could. Things were looking bad. So the doctor suggested to my mother that she have a drink, smoke a cigarette and pray. She did all three and I was born unharmed, ”Gallagher recalls with amusement. Surely this was the first and unconscious time that he felt like the luckiest guy in the world. To this day, Gallagher continues to feel that way, since he dedicates himself to everything that he is passionate about. Fortunately, he works in film, theater and television, at the same time that he takes the odd little bit so as not to abandon music. He may not be the most famous actor in the world,

Peter Gallagher’s film and television career is extensive, although not always marked by quality titles. The actor has been characterized especially for playing supporting roles and/or starring in titles without much impact. But it’s still a dream come true for him. His first contact with the theater was at school. Since then he has never stopped acting. When he enrolled at Tufts University, he continued to pursue it as an amateur, until he realized that he could never do without acting in his life. He put aside his studies in economics, but he did not abandon everything he had achieved at the university, where he formed a musical group. Determined not to give up music or acting, he gave himself six to seven years to earn a living as an actor. He was very lucky because he didn’t have to wait that long. After appearing at several massive castings, he landed roles in different musicals such as “Grease”, where he played Danny Zuko. In his early days he managed to combine acting and music, and although today he earns his living as an actor, he has not neglected his musical side, which has resulted in the occasional album. His career in the theater would be recognized by a Tony nomination for his supporting role in “Long Day’s Journey into Night.” Still, Gallagher has always wanted to broaden his horizons and after participating in a couple of television products, he landed a role in the film where he played Danny Zuko. In his early days he managed to combine acting and music, and although today he earns his living as an actor, he has not neglected his musical side, which has resulted in the occasional album. His career in the theater would be recognized by a Tony nomination for his supporting role in “Long Day’s Journey into Night.” Still, Gallagher has always wanted to broaden his horizons and after participating in a couple of television products, he landed a role in the filmIdol Maker (1980). Also on this occasion he went through a casting with numerous candidates, for which he feels very proud of his participation in this musical film directed by Taylor Hackford . Since then, his work has developed indistinctly between the tables, the small screen and the cinema.

Looking back, Peter feels lucky to have been able to work with greats of the trade, despite the fact that his filmography contains titles and characters that are not memorable. He is aware that his career, like others, has had ups and downs, but there is no one who takes away the pleasure of having worked for greats like Robert Altman in The Caine Mutiny (1988) ,The Hollywood Game (1992) andCrossed Lives (1993). You can also boast of having worked for Neil Jordan inThe ghost hotel (1988) or the Coen brothers inThe Great Leap (1994), where he also seconded Paul Newman .

What could be called the first significant role in Gallagher’s filmography came from the great Steven Soderbergh and his directorial debut inSex, lies and videotape (1989). The filmmaker chose him to play the leading adulterous lawyer, and repeated with him later in Underneath (1995). Shortly before reuniting with Soderbergh, he played the anti-hunk in the hilarious and original comedy starring Sandra Bullock ,While you were sleeping (1995). A year later, she starred with Catherine Zeta-Jones –a stranger at the time– in a television production about the Titanic. However, that same year she would participate in another title of higher quality, directed by Sam Mendes :American Beauty (1999). Gallagher became the irritating real-estate king who had an affair with Kevin Spacey ‘s character Annette Bening . In a radical change of record, in 2003 he was signed to play the head of the family Sandy Cohen in the youth series OC . He was the typical character who inevitably liked him given his good will and sympathy, which is why he contributed to increasing the popularity of him.

Having far exceeded the deadline that Gallagher had given himself to earn a living as an actor and achieved the dream of not giving up music, the actor has done more things, such as making his debut as a screenwriter with Joan Cusack in the musical dramaThe Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez (1991). All this has not led him to neglect the personal field. In 1983 he married production manager Paula Harwood with whom he has two children, Jamey (1990) and Kathryn (1993). Another great pride of this man with a clear look framed in the thickness of his bushy eyebrows.
