Her face became popular around the world as the owner of the “Twin Peaks” cafeteria, for which Laura Palmer worked sporadically. Actress Peggy Lipton died at the age of 72 as a result of cancer on May 11, 2019. “She passed away in the company of her children and nephews. We feel lucky for every moment we have spent with her,” explains her family it’s a statement. “She will always be a beacon of light for us.”

Born in New York on August 30, 1946, Peggy Lipton began her career on the catwalk, as a model. At the age of 19, she made her debut as an interpreter, on the small screen with The John Forsythe Show. She later intervened in popular series such as Bewitched or Alfred Hitchcock Presents . 

He established himself in 1968 as the protagonist of Youth Patrol , a detective series that aired until 1973. The series addressed current issues such as domestic violence, racism and the Vietnam War, for which it was a hit. For her role, she won the Golden Globe for Best Television Actress in 1971. The show became an emblem of the counterculture. The actress is considered an icon of the hippie era also because she married the prestigious black musician Quincy Jones at a time when interracial marriages were rare. After giving birth to two daughters, Kidada and Rashida, she decided to retire from acting.

In 1990 he divorced, so Peggy Lipton decided to recover his career as an interpreter. After regaining fame with the television thriller Twin Peaks , which revolutionized the small screen, she appeared in some feature films, such as Messenger from the Future and At My Sister’s Wedding . In Angie Tribeca , she played the mother of her real daughter, Rashida Jones , the lead, who plays a detective. She said goodbye to television recovering her character in Twin Peaks, when David Lynch shot new chapters in 2017.
