The Mexican actor Pedro Armendáriz Jr. died on December 26, 2011 at the age of 71 at the Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. He had cancer of the eye, which had spread to his brain. The family asked his admirers for “solidarity through prayers.”

Born on April 6, 1940 in Mexico, DF, Pedro Armendáriz Pardo was the son of Pedro Armendáriz, one of the greats of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, and who shot such well-known titles as The 3 Godfathers , Fort Apache and From Russia . with love His mother, Carmelita Pardo, was also an actress, and under the name of Carmelita Bohr she appeared in some films, such as Mujeres y toros .

Although he never matched his father’s fame anywhere near, he appeared in some 140 films. Titles such as Earthquake , Los perros de la guerra , Frontera Sur , Amistad , The Mexican , Before nightfall , Casa de los babys , and above all The Legend of Zorro , where he was Governor Riley, stand out. As his parent, he was also in a James Bond movie, in his case in License to Kill (1989) .

Divorced from the model Lucía Gómez de Parada, he joined the actress Ofelia Medina , but had also put an end to their relationship.

The films Mamitas , by Nicholas Ozeki, and Casa de mi padre , by Matt Piedmont, with Will Ferrell , Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna , are pending release .
