PDP Loses Six Delta Lawmakers to APC, Two Labour Reps Join PDP

There was a shake-up in the House of Representatives on Tuesday as six lawmakers from Delta State left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a related move, two lawmakers from Enugu State also left the Labour Party and joined the PDP.

House Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, made the announcements during plenary, reading letters submitted by the lawmakers.

The Delta lawmakers who defected to the APC are Victor Nwokolo, Julius Pondi, Thomas Ereyitomi, Nicholas Mutu, Ukodhiko Jonathan, and Nnamdi Ezechi.

From Enugu, Mark Obetta and Denis Nnamdi cited unresolved internal disputes and factional leadership struggles as reasons for leaving the Labour Party.

According to their letters, the lawmakers said the crisis within their former parties left them with no choice but to seek political stability elsewhere.
