PAULA ARCILA: AGE AND BIOGRAPHY OF THE COLLABORATOR OF ‘ZAPEANDO’
Born in Antioquia in 1975, she grew up in the Belén neighborhood of Medellín. Her vocation for the world of communication came to her by family vocation thanks to her uncles, since they were radio stars in her country. From a very young age, she began to accompany her uncle, Alonso, on her program “Los habitantes de la noche.”
At just 19 years old, she moved to Miami to begin her career as a radio and television presenter and collaborator. In 1998, she started her program ‘De regreso a casa’ on Caracol Radio, to make the leap to television to programs like ‘Quién tiene la razón’ and the Telefutura network.
In 2004, he made a great leap in popularity thanks to the fact that he began presenting the program ‘El desayuno’ on Univisión Radio, which made him become a star in Miami.
Her comedic facet and as an actress would give a boost in 2012 thanks to the fact that she began working on the play ‘The Vagina Monologues’, but later ‘Miami de Taxi’, ‘When death calls’, ‘Mujeres Ligeras’ would arrive. ‘ and ‘Bad’, among other titles.
She celebrated her 40th birthday with the monologue Miss Forty, a complete success with which she toured the United States and Latin America for several years.
In addition to being a presenter and actress, Paula Arcila has also had an interesting career as a writer with two books. The first was ‘Saving Lives’, in collaboration with the nutritionist and trainer José Fernández. The second was her autobiography, titled ‘A Queen Without Measures’.
In 2019 he moved to Spain to start the monologue ‘Un Cambio Mente’, inspired by his life in a new city. In it she recounts her experience leaving Miami and settling in Madrid.
She is currently a contributor to ‘Despierta América’, the morning television program with the largest Latino audience in the US. In addition, she is the presenter of the podcast ‘Permitted to be wrong’, together with her partner Ana María Simón.
Paula is also making a name for herself in the Spanish media as a collaborator on ‘A vivir que son dos días’ and on ‘Zapeando’, on laSexta.
