  1. Paul Scholes suffered from asthma and was also diagnosed early in his career with Osgood-Schlatter disease, a common knee problem in young athletes.
  2. Along with his former Manchester United team-mates – Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Gary Neville – he owns a 50 per cent stake in the Salford City club.
  3. In 2014 he was a manager at Manchester United under the guidance of his friend Ryan Giggs, who was appointed interim manager for four games.
  4. He was often criticized for his poor tackles throughout his career, which is why he holds the record for the most yellow cards in the UEFA Champions League. He received 32 yellow cards.
  5. While playing for Manchester United he won an amazing 25 major trophies including 11 Premier League titles, 2 Champions League titles and 3 FA Cups.
