Paul Rudd was born on April 6, 1969, in Passaic, New Jersey. He is the son of Michael Rudd who was a historical tour guide and former vice-president of TWA and Gloria Irene Granville who was a sales manager at the television station KSMO-TV in Kansas City, Missouri.
Meanwhile, both of his parents were born and raised in London; his mother was from Surbiton and his father was from Edgware. Both of his parents were Ashkenazi Jews who immigrated to England from Belarus, Poland, and Russia. Furthermore, Rudd’s grandfather changed his paternal family’s original last name, Rudnitsky, to Rudd.
Rudd’s family relocated to Lenexa, Kansas when he was ten years old. His family also lived in Anaheim, California, for three years due to his father’s work. Rudd attended Broadmoor Junior High and Shawnee Mission West High School in the Kansas City metro area, where he received his diploma in 1987. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity’s Nu Chapter while a student at the University of Kansas, where he majored in theater. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Rudd spent three months in the interim while he was enrolled in Oxford’s British American Drama Academy.

Career
In 1991, Rudd made his acting debut in a Super Nintendo commercial, he also played Kirby Quimby Philby in the 1992 television drama Sisters although it didn’t come easy, he got a starring role. He made six episodes of Wild Oats in 1994. In 1995, Rudd left Sisters to star alongside Alicia Silverstone in the comedy Clueless.
In addition, he played Tommy Doyle in the movies Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Romeo and Juliet, The Locusts, Overnight Delivery, The Object of My Affection, and 200 Cigarettes. He was a cast member of The Cider House Rules, a 1999 movie that was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
Rudd re-joined Jason Segel whom he had earlier filmed with before in the 2009 film I Love You Man, in which they play friends who get along because they both love the rock band Rush.
