Paul Pogba born as Paul Labile Pogba, is a French professional footballer born March 15, 1993 in Lagny-sur-Marne, France. He is a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester United and the France team. He plays as a central midfielder, but can also play as an attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder and deep-lying playmaker. During the 2014 FIFA World Cup, he received the Best Young Player award for his performances.

Internationally, at under-20 level, he captained France at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup and won the Best Player award for his performances during the tournament. He made his senior France national team debut on 22 March 2013 in a 3–1 win over Georgia and scored his first World Cup goal on 30 June 2014 against Nigeria; he received the Best Young Player award for his performances at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, after reaching the quarter-finals. He went on to represent his country at UEFA Euro 2016 on home soil, where he scored a goal as his team reached the final.

He was called up to the reserves team in November 2010 and made his debut on November 2 against Bolton Wanderers. In the FA Youth Cup, he scored a long-range goal, described as a ‘piledriver’, on 10 January 2011. A month later, he netted another similar goal in the Academy League against West Bromwich Albion.

His then manager Alex Ferguson promoted Pogba among three other players to the first team ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup fifth round tie against Crawley Town. He was given a number 42 shirt. For the rest of the season, Pogba continued at the Under-18s.

At the start of the 2011/2012 season, Ferguson confirmed that Pogba would be part of the senior squad. He was promoted to the club’s reserve team permanently for the 2011–12 season and made his first appearance of the season on 15 August 2011 in the team’s Premier Reserve League opener against Arsenal. He earned himself a spot in the first team to feature in their Football League Cup match on September 19. He appeared as a half-time substitute to make his professional debut.

On 31 January 2012, he made his Premier League debut against Stoke City coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute for Javier Hernández. He made his European debut in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16 against Spanish club Athletic Bilbao.

PAUL POGBAJUVENTUS

Pogba failed to sign a new contract for United and on 3 July 2012 the Man U manager confirmed that Pogba had left the club and signed for Italian club Juventus. The report was confirmed by Juventus on July 27 that Pogba had undergone a medical at the club and the transfer was completed on August 3. His contract lasted for years.

Pogba’s first appearance for Juventus came in a pre-season friendly against Benfica in Geneva on 1 August as a replacement for Andrea Pirlo . In Serie A he made his first competitive appearance against Chievo on 22 September 2012 and played the full 90 minutes. He also made his first UEFA Champions League appearance in a 1–1 home draw against Shakhtar Donetsk. He was awarded the 2013 Golden Boy for Europe’s Best Young Player in December.

The 2014/2015 season saw him become a key player entering the starting line-up, and made more appearances (51) for the club than any other player in all competitions that season, as well as 9 goals. He won his second consecutive Serie A title under manager Antonio Conte and his side reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.

He continued to perform successfully even under his new manager, Massimiliano Allegri. He renewed his contract with Juventus on October 24, tying him to the club until 2019. He was selected as one of 23 candidates for the 2014 Ballon d’Or on October 28. He was the youngest on the list at the age of 21. He also received the Bravo award in 2014 from the Italian sports magazine Il Guerin Sportivo. It is awarded to the best player under the age of 23 who has taken part in European competitions.

On July 15, 2015, Pogba’s name appeared on the list of ten finalists for the 2015 UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, for which he placed tenth. He also received the prestigious number 10 jersey for the 2015-16 season, following the departure of Carlos Tevez. The shirt number is prestigious as it had been worn by Alessandro Del Piero , Roberto Baggio and Michel Platini.

He was nominated for the 2015 UEFA Team of the Year on 24 November and on 8 January 2016 he was named in the squad. Three days later, he was named to the 2015 FIFA FIFPro World XI. His excellence in his team’s new creative position allowed him to gain more time on the ball, a feat that played a key role in helping the Juventus to win the league title with a joint personal best 8 goals in Serie A. He also finished the league season as the top assist provider in Serie A, with a personal best 12 assists, alongside by Miralem Pjanic.

Pogba’s return to Manchester United

The player returned to his former club Manchester United on August 8, 2016. He was handed a five-year deal for a transfer fee of €105m (£89.3m) plus bonuses of £5 millions of euros. The fee was the highest record then, having passed former record holder Gareth Bale.

The Football Association, however, announced that Pogba would be suspended for Manchester United’s opening Premier League game of the 2016-17 season. Man U were playing Bournemouth at the time and Pogba’s suspension was due to two yellow cards he picked up in the previous season’s edition with Juventus (the Coppa Italia).

He made his first appearance for the club on 19 August 2016 against Southampton in the Premier League and they won 2–0. On 24 September, he scored his first Premier League goal with a header against defending champions Leicester City. In 2018, Pogba took over as the club’s temporary captain in the first games of the 2018-19 season due to the absence of Antonio Valencia (the team’s captain). However, Man U manager José Mourinho has announced that Pobga will no longer be captain after a series of disappointing results. The two (Pogba and Mourinho) were even filmed confronting each other in a training session although Mourinho claimed there was ‘no problem’ between them.

PAUL POGBA HAIRCUTS – PAUL POGBA HAIR

Manchester United star Paul Pogba is known for two things; dabbing after each goal scored and his hairstyles.

  1. The star: Paul Pogba is a star for sure but the Frenchman went further to tell everyone he really is a special footballer. The Man Utd star spotted this hairstyle during his time at Juventus.
  2. The Leopard Skin: One of Pogba’s most infamous. Why he chose the hairstyle routs many, but maybe the midfielder wanted to be as quick and agile as a leopard.
  3. Follow Batman: “Follow Batman” is one of the most memorable our favorite hooded crusader/dark knight has ever said when asked by a henchman who he is. Maybe Pogba felt connected and decided to become a full-scale dark knight.
  4. Football is music for the best: Pogba loves music… if he doesn’t, why is he dabbing like Migos and Olamide? The Frenchman who likes to caress the ball and do things that make music to the eyes has decided to switch the microphone.
  5. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its Pogba: ‘It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its Superman’ or maybe it’s now ‘it’s a bird, it’s a plane, his Pogba’ after the midfielder sported a hairstyle with a bird on one side and Pogboom on the other side ahead of Euro 2016.
  6. Pogback: When Pogba returned to Man United at the end of the summer, he came out of the block with just blonde hair. Maybe going blonde like Messi, Aaron Ramsey and Phil Jones isn’t a bad idea.

‘TURIN IS MY HOME’ – POGBA DROPS JUVENTUS COMEBACK HINT AMID MAN UTD TURMOIL

Adopted from: goal.com
Published: November 2, 2018

The France international will be part of the Red Devils squad that travel to Italy on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, with the midfielder looking forward to facing his former side Juventus.

The Manchester United midfielder has broken his media ban saying Juventus is his ‘home’ amid speculation he could one day return to the Serie A champions.

Last month, the France international claimed United told him not to speak to reporters following the defeat at West Ham. But ahead of United’s Champions League trip to Juventus on Wednesday, Pogba said he had always wanted the chance to return to Turin.

“I expected it, it was crazy,” he told RMC Sport. “I spoke with my brother last summer, I said, ‘Imagine, we’re in the same group as Juve. “For me it’s a pleasure, Turin is my home, it’s where I scored my first professional goal.”

Speculation that the 25-year-old could join Juve has surfaced as a result, although Italian officials have moved to quell those rumours.

But it remains clear that Pogba still has an emotional attachment to the Bianconeri, mainly due to his continued contact with the current first-team players.

‘[Juan] Cuadrado, [Paulo] Dybala, [Leonardo] Bonucci’, confirmed Pogba as players he keeps in touch with.

“I always listened to them and we always talked about them, we were a family and obviously we kept in touch.

‘When you are close to men like [Giorgio] Chiellini, [Gianluigi] Buffon or [Andrea] Pirlo, you can only learn.’

Ahead of the game at the Allianz Stadium, United have the task of securing back-to-back wins for the first time since September as they take on Bournemouth on Saturday November 3.

United will ‘forever’ be my home, says Paul Pogba

Adopted from: metro.co.uk
Published: November 1, 2018

Paul Pogba says Manchester United will ‘forever’ be his home amid speculation he is ready to leave the club. The Frenchman came through United’s academy but left aged 18 for Juventus, only to return in a club-record £89million deal five years later. Pogba’s first season at Old Trafford was successful, but his relationship with Jose Mourinho has since soured and he is reportedly ready to leave the club. However, Pogba claims the Theater of Dreams will ‘forever’ be his home – whatever happens in the future.

“Coming back to Manchester United was like coming home,” said Pogba. “This has always been my home and will always be.”

Pogba was dismissed as vice-captain earlier this season after angering Mourinho with his criticism of the team’s tactics following a 1-1 draw with Wolves. The Frenchman, 25, is a target for Barcelona and former club Juventus but United are unwilling to lose their star man.
